Dirac Quantization of Two-dimensional Dilaton Gravity Minimally Coupled to N Massless Scalar Fields
It is shown that the Callan-Giddings-Harvey-Strominger theory on S × R can be consistently quantized (using Dirac’s approach) without imposing any constraints on the sign of the gravitational coupling constant or the sign (or value) of the cosmological constant. The quantum constraints in terms of the original geometrical variables are also derived. Two-dimensional theories of gravity have been...
متن کاملQuintessence with Coupled Scalar Fields
We discuss the dynamics of a quintessence model involving two coupled scalar fields. The model presents two types of solutions, namely solutions that correspond to eternal and transient acceleration of the universe. In both cases, we obtain values for the cosmological parameters that satisfy current observational bounds as well as the nucleosynthesis constraint on the quintessence energy density.
متن کاملThe masses of weakly-coupled scalar fields in the early Universe
We consider the effective mass-squared in the early Universe, of a scalar field which has only Planck-suppressed couplings with light fields and whose true mass is less than the Hubble parameter H. A detailed investigation shows that the effective mass-squared generically is of order ±H2 during inflation and matterdomination, but much smaller during radiation domination. We consider the special...

متن کاملExpanding universes with scalar fields coupled to matter Roberto Giambò
We study the late time evolution of flat and negatively curved FriedmannRobertson-Walker (FRW) models with a perfect fluid matter source and a nonminimally coupled scalar field having an arbitrary non-negative potential function V (φ). We prove using the methods of dynamical systems, that equilibria corresponding to non-negative local minima for V are asymptotically stable. We classify all case...
